Using The Ministry of Justice Portal to Cut Costs on EL/PL Claims

In July of this year, changes were made to the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) Claims Portal, allowing for Employers’ Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL) claims to be logged in the portal for the first time.

If claims are acted upon and settled within the portal, there can often be a significant reduction in the costs associated with claim settlement, benefitting insurers and clients alike.

What can you do to ensure that claims are settled within the portal, and acted upon within the deadlines? Time is of the essence.

  • Make sure any accidents or incidents are quickly reported, with all the factual information relating to the claim provided at the earliest opportunity.
  • If directly sent a claims notification form, send it on immediately to Bollington Claims.
  • Ensure all earnings details are provided promptly if an EL claim is made.
  • Respond quickly to any requests for information from us in relation to the claim.

Your business may benefit by appointing a Reporting Investigations Officer to act as a focal point for all claims.
